St John Passion Bach
Seattle Symphony
CANADIANS: Andrew Haji
Text from the Seattle Symphony website:
Seattle Symphony celebrates the 300th anniversary of Bach’s profound St. John Passion with its premiere performance of the dramatic masterpiece. In his sixth decade on the podium, Nicholas McGegan — long hailed as “one of the finest baroque conductors of his generation” (The Independent) and “an expert in 18th-century style” (The New Yorker) — leads an all-star cast of vocalists through the trial and execution of Jesus in what is ultimately a message of hope and redemption.
