Vocal Lab: New Works in Practice Various
Flipside Opera
From Flipside Opera‘s website:
A masterclass-style workshop led by acclaimed vocalist and interdisciplinary artist Eliza Bagg designed for singers working in contemporary and experimental contexts. VOCAL LAB invites participants to present a new or in-progress work alongside their accompanist, offering participants detailed feedback on interpretation, technique, collaboration, as well as approaches to navigating new works. This workshop offers a supportive, process-oriented environment with emphasis placed on developing a flexible, responsive relationship to score, text, and sound.
Drawing from her wide-ranging practice across early music, contemporary performance, and experimental forms, Eliza will also share insights into sustaining a dynamic, multifaceted artistic career.
All registered workshop participants will be sent a confirmation email and pre-workshop questionnaire.
$25 Registration fee for workshop participants (includes admission to DISTANT ECHOES on May 29) | Free to observe
Limited capacity, pre-registration required for participants and observers
Co-presented with Flipside Opera and Art Song Collective
