Atelier lyrique to livestream end-of-season concert

The young artists of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal are bound and determined to end a bizarre operatic season on a high note. On May 18, the Atelier lyrique will give two performances of their end-of-season concert at Théâtre Maisonneuve, at 2pm and 6pm ET; in addition to the small live audience, the 6pm concert will be available to watch via livestream.

The concert, which promises operatic arias and ensembles from among Montréal’s hardy group of young singers, feels very much like a moment of normalcy amid this unique year. Without the normal sense of goal-oriented work and consistent feedback from peers, mentors, and general audiences, this season ender is a nod to the admirable work happening from the Atelier lyrique in insecure circumstances. Atelier pianists Holly Kroeker and Andrea Van Pelt will accompany singers Matthew Dalen, Sydney Frodsham, Lucie St-Martin, Geoffrey Schellenberg, Jean-Philippe McClish, Sarah Dufresne, Vanessa Croome, and Kirsten LeBlanc.

If you’ve not already snagged one of the in-demand live audience tickets, access to the webcast is available for just $8.99. For details and purchasing, visit Opéra de Montréal’s website.
