Die Fledermaus Strauss

Text from the Opéra de Rennes website:

A musical gem, The Bat was the first attempt, but above all the masterstroke of Johann Strauss II, king of the waltz and Viennese operetta. During a masked ball organized at the resort of Prince Orlofsky, Doctor Falke implements a carefully prepared plan to take revenge on his friend Eisenstein.
Presentation
Intoxicating and fascinating, this operetta also carries its dose of cynicism. Can champagne and glitter mask confusion and ambiguity for long? The Bat describes an era and its failings… During the party, low blows and lies sweep away all the actors of a sick society in a whirlwind. Anne Girouard, hilarious Queen Guinevere from the series Kaamelott , takes on the role of narrator and Frosch here. She leads us into the twists and turns and plots of this Bat .
