Pacific Vitoria Opera (POV) and the Victoria Symphony present this summer’s exciting 10-day music festival, Open Air.

Bringing fans back to live performances between July 22 and August 2, 2021, 20 concerts and recitals will rotate between The Butler’s Garden and The Victoria Foundation Courtyard in an outdoor event under the summer sky.

Some operatic highlights from the anticipated line-up includes That makes two of us, a collections of duets featuring mezzo-soprano Marion Newman, tenor Adam Luther and many more.

Soprano Lara Ciekiewicz and tenor Kaden Forsberg take on music from Puccini to Schönberg and Sondheim in Unchained Melody, and mezzo-soprano Simran Claire and baritone Bruce Kelly bring Handel and Mozart to opera lovers and newbies in GFH/WAM.

Open Air’s All The Hits All The Time brings each artists favourite opera arias together in a 45-minute concert filled with opera’s greatest hits, and Newman and Luther return for Oh the Drama to bring tunes from Carmen and Tosca to life.

Guys’ Night Out gives fans medleys from Giordano, Lehár, Leoncavallo, Wagner, and more, and En français brings Ciekiewicz and Claire together again for arias and art songs from Gounod, Massenet, and Offenbach.

Included in the Open Air festival is Music in the Meadows, a series of surprise musical pop-ups celebrating the diversity of artists from many cultural traditions.
