The Santa Fe Opera has launched a new digital series, Consider the Source, that dives deep into the literary source material for some of opera’s best-loved works. The Marriage of Figaro, Eugene Onegin, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, even Bram Stoker’s Dracula – for an opera-loving bookworm, these sessions are a jackpot.
Consider the Source conversations are available for free on SFO’s YouTube channel. The first episode – all about Beaumarchais! – is already out, and the rest will release on February 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18 at 6pm MT.
For deeper dives, you can register for Consider the Source seminars, priced at $30 per session and available by registration (space is limited, so snag your spot quickly!).
Canadians might be particularly curious to catch the conversation with Étienne Dupuis and Nicole Car discussing Pushkin, Tchaikovsky, and their Eugene Onegin, March 16, 6pm MT.
