#BehindtheCurtain: Rihab Chaieb: “Ocean of emotion”

In our newest, exclusive Q&A series #BehindtheCurtain, we’re going ‘backstage’ to ask leaders in Canadian music to share their journey and what inspires them. In our first installment, Canadian mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb reflects on her love of music, from her time training in Montreal as a young artist to the moment she discovered her love of opera. We also meet her adorable pup, Nahla!


Rihab Chaieb is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Program where she appeared in numerous productions, including L’italiana in Algeri (Zulma), Luisa Miller (Laura), Cavalleria Rusticana (Lola), Hänsel und Gretel (Sandmännchen) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni).
