Opera Makers: COC’s new video series for the young

by | May 21, 2020 | Featured, News

The Canadian Opera Company has just launched Opera Makers, an 8-week video series designed for young people aged 7-12. The series kicked off on May 20 with “Tongue Twisters”, featuring soprano Karine White highlighting the fun side of a singer’s diction exercises; as they are released each week, the videos will go up as part of the COC’s ongoing Digital Content Hub.

Upcoming creations will include “Sing like an Opera Singer” with Makenzie Morgan, “Composer’s Corner” with Chris Thornborrow, and “Brain & Body Boost” with composer Roydon Tse and dancer Annemarie Cabri.

A focus on young audiences is an encouraging step for the COC’s digital output. Check back regularly for the latest in Opera Makers, or sign up for their email reminders.
